As part of Daan Utsav 2025, the Institute for Water & Climate Initiatives (IWCI) celebrated the spirit of generosity and compassion by spending meaningful time with children from nearby slum communities. The initiative focused on sharing joy through simple yet impactful acts of giving, reinforcing the belief that small gestures can create lasting change.
During the celebration, IWCI distributed school bags and basic learning materials and shared a nutritious meal with 40 children, creating moments of happiness, care, and togetherness.

By providing school bags and essential learning supplies, the initiative aimed to encourage regular school attendance and support children in continuing their educational journeys with confidence and enthusiasm. For many children, these materials serve as more than just school supplies—they represent encouragement, hope, and a sense of being valued.
In addition to educational support, IWCI organized a shared meal for the children, fostering an atmosphere of warmth and inclusion. Sitting together, sharing food, and engaging in conversations created a space where children felt cared for and connected. These moments of togetherness helped build trust and offered the children a sense of joy and belonging.
The Daan Utsav celebration also strengthened community spirit among IWCI team members and volunteers. The experience fostered empathy, kindness, and a shared sense of responsibility, reminding everyone involved of the importance of giving back to the community. It reinforced IWCI's commitment to working not only on environmental and water-related challenges, but also on nurturing human values that build resilient and inclusive communities.
Through this initiative, IWCI reaffirmed its mission to promote compassion, inclusion, and empowerment. The Daan Utsav celebration was a reminder that meaningful change begins with empathy and that spreading smiles can be a powerful step toward building a more caring and equitable society.
